EK BHARAT SHRESTH A BHARAT Camp is being conducted at CVRDE (DRDO), Avadi from 09 May 2023 to 13 May 2023 to commemorate the 25' Anniversary of Pokhran — II nuclear tests.
NCC Cadets from all over the Country are attending the camps held nationwide under three NCC Directorates, at the locations namely Chandigarh, Pune and Chennai being organized on behalf of DG NCC, New Delhi. The camp aims to educate the cadets on the role and organisation of DRDO by visits and active interactions with their scientists this will give wide spread visibility to both the organisations.
A total of 30 cadets each from six NCC directorates viz. Tamil Nadu Pondicherry Andaman & Nicobar directorate, Kerala & Lakshadweep directorate, Karnataka, & Goa directorate, Andhra & Telangana directorate, Odhisa directorate and West Bengal & Sikkim directorate have been detailed to attend the EBSB Camp at Avadi, Chennai.
On 10 May 2023, Cadets were taken for a visit to CVRDE, Avadi to get first hand information and knowledge regarding the specific research's being conducted and to learn the nuances of Research & Development conducted at CVRDE, where the Main Battle Tanks/ 'A' Vehicles, BMP's and IPC's used by the Indian armed forces using cutting edge technology are being researched and developed. Cadets were also exposed to various subjects pertaining to nuclear energy through lectures with special emphasis on Chemical Biological Radiological Nuclear warfare. (CBRN)
Various competitions are being conducted for the cadets like Collage Preparation, Essay writing, Quiz, and Caption making. Cadets are also given an opportunity to play various games like Basketball and Volleyball for a healthy interaction between cadets participating from all over India. The cadets also have a camp fire and cultural night at the Annai Violet College of Arts and Science, Ambattur on the penultimate day.
This visit of DRDO has already started to have a positive impact in the young minds of prospective scientists. They had interacted with the eminent scientist in an elaborate manner during the visit conducted. Another visit is planned on 12 May 2023 after which the cadets will Reel back to their respective homes with camp certificates, Medals, laurels and with satisfied memories of friendship, technical knowledge, wisdom about Inter State Cultural heritage and most of all the contacts that they have gained.
