Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development organises Blood Donation Camp

The National Services Scheme-NSS Cell of Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development organised a voluntary Blood Donation Camp on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day on 14th June 2023 at its campus in collaboration with Government Hospital, Thiruvallur. A Group of Volunteers from ARAN, Non-Governmental Organisation in Sriperumbudur participated and donated 20 units of blood as part of the camp.

Prof. Sibnath Deb, the Director of RGNIYD inaugurated the voluntary Blood Donation Camp. In his inaugural address, he appreciated the NSS Programme Officer Dr.Rambabu Botcha and emphasized that there are many advantages in donating blood and saving the lives of hundreds of people in the society. He further added that young people of the country should come forward and contribute for the benefit of the society by donating their blood. One Unit of blood can save three lives of the needy people. Prof.Deb thanked the Government Hospital, Thiruvallur and Volunteers from ARAN NGO for their collaboration and assistance.

Dr. Rambabu botcha the Program Officer of NSS, RGNIYD extended a warm welcome to the all participants of the camp and appreciated all the registered donors for blood donation camp, Dr. Suda from Government Hospital, Thiruvallur explained various benefits of blood donation to the young people of the institute and Mr Bala Prakash, Managing Trustee Aran and other volunteers were present during the camp.

In total 70 people donated their blood including the teaching, non-teaching and administration staff, NSS Volunteers, Volunteers from ARAN, Volunteers from Adopted Village (Katchipettu Village). The Director of RGNIYD congratulated all the donors and NSS Volunteers and ARAN Volunteers for making the blood donation camp a successful one.
