iPAWS to host International Pet Carnival and Cat Show for two days

Inde Pet Animals Welfare Society (iPAWS) is organizing a two-day Pet Carnival and International Cat Show in Coimbatore on July 8 and 9 at Hindusthan College Grounds.

The announcement was made by representatives of iPAWS during a press meet on Tuesday 

Uma Maheshwaran, Secretary, iPAWS said that 250 dogs and 150 cats including both domestic and international breeds from various parts of India will take part in the carnival. In regards to the international cat show, a separate category for domestic cat breeds will also be held.

The carnival will also see various licensed pet animals including cattle, horses, camels, lizards and many will be featured. Exotic birds and ornamental fish will also be exhibited. A fashion show for cats and dogs will be held separately at the venue.

India’s most expensive dog, a Caucasian Shepherd that was priced at Rs. 20 crore will also be in the carnival.

The event will also be a place to get valuable guidance about pet breeding, pet registration and get microchip-implantation for their pets from qualified veterinary doctors at an affordable price.

Uma Maheshwaran further said that a stall featuring Pet Taxi services will be on display, and the event will also witness the launch of DOYO – a Pet Boarding service.

The entry fee for the public is Rs.100. 

Anne Caroll, Secretary, Coimbatore Cattery Club and International Cat Judge, Srikumar Committee Member, iPaws, Smrithi and Rupesh, Members of iPaws also took part in the press meet.
