The Joint Commissionerate of Income Tax, TDS Range-3, Chennai and the Assistant Commissionerate of Panchayat of Tiruvallur District, jointly conducted a TDS Awareness Programme, under the able guidance of Ms C Tripura Sundari, IRS, Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS), Chennai and Mr. M Arjun Manic, IRS, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax, TDS Range-3, Chennai, on Marathan Basis for the benefit of the entire Panchayat Presidents and its Secretaries of Tiruvallur District, today (22-08-2023) at Block Development Office, Poonamalle, wherein, all the 48 Panchayat Presidents and its Secretaries coming under the BDOs of Villivakkam, Puzhal and Poonamalle were participated and got benefitted.
This Income Tax – TDS Awareness Program was presided by Sh Gandhimathinathan, Block Development Officer, Poonamalle and he delivered his Welcome Address.
Mr. T V Sridhar, Income Tax Officer and Mr. L Rajaraman, Income Tax Officer had elaborately explained the necessity of deduction / collection of tax on certain expenses / receipts , the absolute requirement of remittances of TDS / TCS dues into the central government account in time , the significance of filing of TDS / TCS quarterly statements in time as prescribed in the Income Tax Act,1961.
Ms Janaki, TDS consultant presented a practical session on how the TDS dues can be remitted through online and TDS / TCS quarterly statements can be filed in TRACES portal.
