Seven priests from the Kashi Vishwanath temple performed the powerful Saptarishi Arati at the Yogeshwar Linga in front of Adiyogi at the Isha Yoga Center in Coimbatore yesterday.
Saptarishi Arati is a powerful process taught by Shiva to his disciples—the seven sages—thousands of years ago. The process has been preserved in its pure form by priests of the Kashi Vishwanath temple in Varanasi. Every year, on the winter solstice, seven priests from Kashi conduct the Saptarishi Arati to offer gratitude to the Saptarishis for being a vehicle for Shiva’s grace.
The Arati process, accompanied by chanting of mantras and flower offerings, as well as malas to the Linga, created a powerful atmosphere, immersing participants in spiritual bliss. The process started at 6:30 PM and continued until 8:30 PM. This was followed by Adiyogi Divya Darshanam, a powerful light imaging show mapped on the face of Adiyogi, and Sayana Arati. This year, Sayana Arati was conducted for the first time by Isha Brahmacharis and full-time volunteers, along with Kashi Upasakas.
