Erode students Won 32 medals in Asian Cymbal Competition

The Asian level Silambam competition was held for 4 days last month at the multi-purpose indoor sports hall in Nagercoil.

More than 300 people from different countries like India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia and Singapore participated in this competition. The competition was held in such a way that a student participates in three categories under the categories of Mini Sub Junior, Sub Junior, Junior and Senior.

In this, 12 students from Erode District Amateur Silambam Sangam played well on behalf of India and showed their skills. They won 11 gold, 6 silver and 15 bronze medals. The Indian team won the overall trophy of this tournament and came first.

The winning students were selected to qualify for the world-wide sylambam competition.

Secretary Pon Lokesh and President Vinod Kumar congratulated the students who won the competition on behalf of Erode District Amateur Silambam Sangam.

The arrangements for this competition were made by Asian Cilambam Federation, All India Cilambam Federation, Parachan Selvaraj Asan Founder of World Cilambam Federation and General Secretary Mairin Selvaraj Amma General Secretary of All India Cilambam Federation.
