Shri R Thirupathi Venkatasamy, IA & IAS has taken over charge as Director General of Audit (Central) Chennai on 22.01.2024 (Afternoon). He will be responsible for audit of Government of India offices in Tamilnadu, Puducherry, Kerala and Lakshadweep.
Prior to the current assignment, he was working as Accountant General (Audit)-II, Maharashtra, Nagpur and before that he was working as Principal Director of Audit at the India Audit Office Kuala Lampur, Malaysia and was responsible Audit of overseas Offices of Government of India including Embassies of India
He Graduated from Agriculture College and Research Institute, Tamilnadu in 1992 and completed his Post Graduation in Agriculture Extension from Tamilnadu Agriculture University in 1995. He also completed post Graduation in Master of Public Affairs from University of Minnesota, USA in 2014. He has been recognized as a Certificated Internal Auditor by the IIA, USA as a ‘Certified Information System Auditor by ISACA, USA as ‘Certificed Fraud Examiner by ACFE, USA.
