Viksit Bharat programme at Bishop Heber College Trichy

Viksit Bharat  programme was held at Bishop Heber College Tiruchirappalli on Tuesday. The programme was held by Consumer club Entrepreneurship Development Cell in coordination with Deanery of Extension Activities Bishop Heber College.

Dr V Anand Gideon Dean of Extension Activities Bishop Heber College presided over the programme. Dr R Ravi, Dr J Nelsen from Extension Activities Bishop Heber College spoke.

Shri K Devi Padmanabhan Field Publicity Officer Central Bureau of Communication Tiruchirappalli in his special address said that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has envisioned Viksit Bharat 2047 to make India developed nation by 2047 when the nation celebrates 100 years of Independence. A nation becomes developed only if all the people get developed as pointed out by PM in inaugural speech last December. The role of youth especially students in making developed India in another 23 years is very important he added. Public participation is important in making this a success by utilising opportunities in Amrit Kaal. Swachh Bharat Abhiyan became a success only through people participation. The movement is a continuous process as now people are segregating biodegradable and nonbiodegradable wastes while disposing to sanitary workers. India with 4.112 trillion dollars GDP is now fifth largest economy in the world behind the United States 27.974 trillion dollars, China 18.566 trillion dollars, Germany 4.73 trillion dollars and Japan 4.29 trillion dollars. Developed country status is given by United Nation based on Human Development Index with literacy, standard of living and health care parameters. India with HDI of 0.633 is at 132 in developing country index and is expected to grow to reach developed nation status by 2047.

Shri S Arunkumar Field Publicity Asst Tiruchirappalli spoke about Beti Bachao beti Padhao and Sukanya Samridhhi scheme. He urged students to utilize central government schemes and be part of nation’s progress.
