The e-bike designed by the students of Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai, Erode has won a national award. ISI India conducted a competition which was held at IES University, Bhopal for new e-bike innovations. The objectives of the competition included creating skilled engineers and entrepreneurs, growing the interest of the community in renewable energy, electric mobility and bringing innovation in e-bikes. Engineering college students from all over the country participated in the competition.
Students of Kongu College of Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and the students of mechanical electronics engineering, under the guidance of Prof. Nithyavathi and Thangavel, showcased their designed e-bike. The team won the Best Acceleration Award, the Future Award and a cash prize of Rs 10,000. The prize winners were appreciated by Registrar Elango, Principal Balusamy and Parameswaran.
