NIT Puducherry organized Symposia on “Explainable AI for Medical Signal Analysis”

The inauguration ceremony of two-day SERB-sponsored Symposia on “Explainable AI for Medical Signal Analysis” organized by the Department of ECE is inaugurated at Sigma Hall of NIT Puducherry on 03.05.2024 in the presence of Registrar Dr. S. Sundaravarathan, Dean (R&C) Dr. G. S. Mahapatra, Chief Guest, Dr. Menaka Murugesan, Scientist (F), IGCAR, Kalpakkam, and the host faculty Dr. Malaya Kumar Nath, Assistant Professor and HoD (ECE), Faculty, Staffs, and Registered participants. Dr. Usha Natesan, Director (i/c), wished for the program's success. About 93 participants from various institutions have registered for this Symposia.


During these two days:


Dr. Menaka Murugesan, Scientist (F), IGCAR, Kalpakkam, Tamilnadu,


Dr. Sairaman, Senior Resident, Department of Medical Gastroenterology, GTKMCH, Tamilnadu,


Dr. Pratheepan Yogarajah, University of Ulster, UK,


Dr. Mithun Kumar Kar, Assistant Professor, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Coimbatore, and


Dr. Malaya Kumar Nath, Assistant Professor, Department of ECE, NIT Puducherry, will deliver the talks on various aspects of AI for medical diagnosis.


This symposium will help the participants gain knowledge in deep learning, signal processing, machine learning, and their application for identifying diagnostic information from medical images and signals to improve healthcare and understand gaps and challenges in the medical field.


By the end of the Symposia, participants will possess a profound grasp of AI's present capabilities and impending potential within medical imaging, armed with insights to spearhead continued breakthroughs, seamlessly integrating technology with healthcare. This symposium collaborates with industry, academia, medical centre’s, and research organizations. This forum will discuss healthcare issues and how artificial intelligence (AI) might help solve them for a better living in the digital age.
