Central Bureau of Communication field offices Tiruchirappalli and Thanjavur under Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting held awareness programmes in Pillayarpatti Ramanathapuram villages in Thanjavur on Monday.
In Pillayarpatti Govt High School special awareness programme was held on Child rights. FPA Thanjavur Shri K Ravindran welcomed the gathering. FPO Tiruchirappalli Shri K Devi Padmanabhan in his introductory address said that India is largest democracy in the world and spoke about fundamental rights of children. He stressed on Constitution of India and importance of learning and imbibing knowledge. Thanjavur District Child protection Officer Shri Ranjith Kumar spoke about protection of children. He interacted with students and spoke about good touch and bad touch apart from safe touch. He urged children to react against violence against children. He spoke about rules to prevent child marriage and protection of children. Govt High School Headmistress Shanthark and other teachers participated. Prizes were given to students. FPA Trichy Shri S Arunkumar rendered vote of thanks. Cloth bags and pamphlets were distributed to children.
Later an awareness programme was held at Ramanthapuram village in Thanjavur. FPO Trichy spoke about Swachh Bharat Abhiyan which was started on Gandhi Jayanthi day in 2015. He spoke about importance of cleanliness to prevent spread of epidemics. He urged people to segregate degradable and biodegradable wastes. Social welfare officer spoke about various schemes to help women. He urged people to prevent child marriage. Ramanthapuram panchayat president,i Swachh Bharat coordinator Shri Maharajan social welfare officer Arivumani Rajasingh, panchayat secretary participated in the programe.
FPA Thanjavur Shri K Ravindran coordinated the prepublicity events. Prizes were given to those who answered correctly on various govt schemes. Cloth bags were distributed to stress on prevention of plastic usage.
