Tamil Nadu Agricultural University’s Agricultural Engineering College and Research Institute (AEC&RI), Department of Food Process Engineering (FPE) and Tamil Nadu Food Processing and Agri Export Promotion Corporation (TNAPEx), Chennai jointly organized Food Processing Machinery Manufacturers Interface Workshop on 22nd July, 2024 at AEC & RI, TNAU, Coimbatore.
More than 50 Food Processing Machinery Manufacturers from Tamil Nadu have attended this interactive workshop. Dr. S. Ganapathy, Professor, Dept. of Food Process Engineering welcomed the gathering. Dr. A Raviraj, Dean (Agrl. Engg.), felicitated the programme by addressing the key role played by Food Processing industries in the developing economy in our country. Mr. C. D. Kumar, Chairman, Ulavan Producer Co. Ltd., Erode in his special address highlighted the challenges faced by the agro food industries and the modern approaches to solve them.
Dr. R. Tamizh Vendan, Registrar, TNAU presided the workshop and emphasized the contribution of food processing industries in the country’s GDP and encouraged the food processing machinery manufacturers to work towards the food sectors development.
Chief guest of the industry-interface workshop, Dr. K. Alagusundaram, Managing Director and CEO, TNAPEx, Chennai highlighted the objective of the interactive workshop to promote the agricultural and food processing sector and the schemes available for the manufactures like Sub-Mission on Agricultural Mechanization and emphasized the importance of developing standardized machinery having huge potential market to export to other countries. The food processing machinery manufacturers represented the issues faced by them in their business promotion and it was very well taken by the committee. The workshop concluded with remarks by the Chief Guest and Dean (Engg.). Dr. A. Surendrakumar, Professor, Dept. of FMPE, proposed the vote of thanks.
