The English Literary Association was inaugurated at Annai Fathima College of Arts and Science, Thirumangalam, with the aim of providing the students with a platform to enhance their language skills. The association's motto is to foster students' development in various literary pursuits such as stage speaking, English poem writing, and essay writing etc.,
Inaugurating the association, Dr. M. Abdul Kadir, the principal of the college, urged the students to seize this opportunity to hone their skills and excel in the field of English literature. He emphasized that in today's competitive world, possessing an academic degree alone is insufficient to secure a good job. However, when academic qualifications are complemented by unique skills, it significantly increases the chances of landing in a desirable placement. He also mentioned that if you command the English language, you can command Global placements.
The chief guest, Mr. Siva Sankaran, a renowned writer and film critic, shared insights into how successful individuals have effectively utilized such opportunities to further their careers.
In beginning of the event, Mr. Rajkumar, HoD of English, extended a warm welcome to the gathering, while Ms. Jhansi Rani served as the master of the ceremony. The arrangements for the inauguration were meticulously handled by Profs. Anbu Selvi, Sivakumar, Dr. Farida Begum, Ms. Neethu Mol and Mrs. Sudha. Ms. Dharini, a third year B A., English Literature student proposed a vote of thanks.
