The 165th Income Tax Day was celebrated at national level at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi on 21st August 2024. The Hon'ble Union Finance Minister graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. During the event, nine Officers and officials from Tamilnadu & Puducherry charge were felicitated and certificates and medals were awarded to them by Hon’ble Union Finance Minister. Among the awardees, four Officers were recognized for their Meritorious Services, four Officers and staffs for excellence in service and one Officer for achievement in the field of social causes.
The Officers recognized for Meritorious Services were commended for their exceptional contributions during their service career in areas such as taxpayer outreach, capacity building, technological innovation, training and enhancing human resource quality etc. alongside their regular duties. The awards for excellence were given to those who made significant contributions during previous year through innovative and out-of-the-box thinking, effectively handling challenging situations during search and seizure operations, and performing exceptionally well during survey operations. Additionally, one officer was honored for her remarkable contribution to society during and beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
