BIS, Hyderabad Branch Office Organizes Successful "Run for Quality" Event

The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Hyderabad Branch Office, successfully conducted the "Run for Quality" event at Necklace Road, with Shri Etela Rajendhar, Loksabha MP, Malkajgiri Parliament, as the Chief Guest.


In his inaugural speech, Shri Rajendhar emphasized that Indian Standards are becoming Global Standards. The Government of India is committed to making our country a substandard-products-free nation. Many items are now under BIS Mandatory certification, and various development works demonstrate the government's dedication to strengthening our nation's quality consciousness.


He further stressed that every citizen should follow Indian Standards and purchase ISI-marked products only. By adopting quality products, we contribute to India's economic growth and development. It's our collective responsibility to participate in this mission.


Shri PV Srikanth, Director & Head, BIS Hyderabad, highlighted the importance of individual responsibility in promoting quality consciousness. He encouraged participants to spread awareness about Indian Standards and invited consumers to download the BIS CARE App to ensure quality.


"Quality is everyone's responsibility," Shri Srikanth emphasized. "By working together, we can create a culture of excellence in India."


The event saw an overwhelming response with over 600 participants from academia, industries, consumer organizations, and government departments gathering at IMAX Grounds. Shri Etela Rajendhar flagged off the run, which continued along Necklace Road.


The "Run for Quality" event aligns with BIS's mission to promote standards, conformity assessment, and quality awareness. By engaging stakeholders and citizens, BIS strives to create a culture of quality and excellence in India.
