The Navaratri Festival at the Isha Yoga Center commenced with great enthusiasm on the 3rd of October. On the 6th of October, the festival featured the Dance Performance from Telangana known as the Adivasi Kalakara group, captivating audiences at Isha.
Every year, the Navaratri Festival is celebrated with vibrant fervour at Isha. Throughout these nine days, various traditional Indian art performances are held each evening at 6 PM in the Surya Kund Mandapam at Isha, showcasing artists from Tamil Nadu and other states in a rich display of music and dance.
On the fourth day of the celebrations, the esteemed Telangana tribal dance group, Adivasi Sakala Kala, mesmerised the audience with their performance. The group’s leader, Thiru Sridhar, hails from Dubarpet village in the Ichoda region. His art group has previously represented Telangana at the Delhi International Art Festival, performing the Gussadi dance. Moreover, he has spotlighted hundreds of indigenous artists through the Adivasi Kala Jathara event. In recognition of his contributions, he received the Nandi Award for Creative Artist in 2022. The performance by his group left everyone in awe.
During the nine days of the Navaratri festival, Devi Lingabhairavi is worshiped through three distinct forms of Abhishekam. In the first three days, she is honoured with Kumkum Abhishekam, followed by Turmeric Abhishekam in the subsequent three days and Chandanam Abhisekham in the last three days.
Notably, the Linga Bhairavi temple remains open until 10:20 PM for the special celebrations. Additionally, the Maha Aarti for Devi Linga Bhairavi is conducted every day throughout the festival.
