HDFC Bank organized a financial awareness and safety program in Madurai to educate the public on secure banking practices.
As part of its nationwide efforts to combat the increasing instances of cybercrime and raise awareness, HDFC Bank conducts various outreach initiatives. In this context, a unique awareness program was held in Madurai, utilizing traditional street theater (Theru Koothu) to effectively convey the message to the general public.
The event took place at the Iyer Bungalow grounds in Madurai, featuring cultural performances that highlighted the importance of financial literacy and secure banking usage.
Madurai Cybercrime Inspector Priya, along with Sub-Inspectors Sudarshana and Karthik, addressed the audience, discussing cybercrime threats and how to safeguard against them. They also provided tips on secure banking practices and informed attendees about the 1930 helpline number for reporting cybercrime incidents.
Other dignitaries present at the event included JMS Construction Managing Director Lion V. Jeganathan, HDFC Bank Regional Head Shanmuga Velayutham, and Cluster Head Alagudurai Pandian.
Earlier, HDFC Bank’s Tiruppalai Branch Manager Swarna Senthilnathan welcomed the gathering. The program witnessed active participation from the public, who benefited greatly from the informative session.
