The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Aarupadai Veedu Institute of Technology (AVIT), Paiyanoor, Chennai, proudly inaugurated the SPECTRA XR Club, an initiative dedicated to fostering innovation and excellence in Extended Reality (XR) technologies. The event, held at the AVIT Chennai Campus, marks a significant step in integrating XR advancements into academia, aligning with AICTE’s vision of leveraging emerging technologies for educational and industrial transformation.
The ceremony commenced with a warm Welcome Address by Dr. S. Balakrishnan, Professor & Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, AVIT, who emphasized the club's mission to empower students with hands-on experience in XR technologies and their applications.Delivering the Presidential Address, Dr. S. P. Sangeetha, Vice Principal – Academics, AVIT, underscored the importance of XR technologies in shaping the future of industries and academia, encouraging students to actively engage in innovative research and development.The Inaugural Address was delivered by Dr. Manivannan M, Chief Guest, who shared valuable insights into the transformative potential of XR technologies and their impact on various industries, including healthcare, education, and entertainment.A Special Address was given by Mr. S. Ganesh, Guest of Honor, who elaborated on real-world applications of XR and how students can leverage these technologies for innovation and career growth.
The event concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks by Dr. Muthukumaran M, Professor, CSE, AVIT, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, faculty members, and students for their enthusiastic participation and support.
