UPU- Universal Postal Union organizes International Letter Writing Competition for Young People every year with different themes in which students studying in schools in the age group of 9-15 years participate from countries all over the world International Letter Writing Competition for Young People was organized in 2024 by the Universal Postal Union on the theme “At 150 years old, the UPU has served people around the world for more than eight generations. The world has changed enormously since then. Write a letter to future generations about the world you hope they inherit”.
30,290 entries were received at National Level Ms.Aathira.A.M, studying 9th std in Bharani Vidhyalaya Sr.Sec School, Karur, Tamilnadu was selected as winner of First prize at National level.
The following were the 2nd and 3rd best entries from Tamilnadu State.
Mr.A.Amrith Roshaan studying 9thstd in Shree Saraswati Vidhyaah Mandheer School, Mettupalayam, Tamilnadu and Ms.K.Saravana Priya @ Abarna studying 10th std in Sri Sankara Vidhyalaya Higher Secondary School, Puduchery, Tamilnadu winning a prize money of Rs.10,000/- & Rs,5000/- each.
Smt.Mariamma Thomas, Chief Postmaster General, Tamilnadu Circle handed over the prize money with a cheque amount of Rs.50,000/- to Ms.Aathira.A.M during the Valedictory function of the State-level Philatelic Exhibition TANAPEX Chennai on 01.02.2025.
