Regional Consultative Workshop on Implementing NEP 2020 for Transforming Teacher Education in the Southern Region

School of Education, Pondicherry University and National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, organised a Regional Consultative Workshop on the Implementation of NEP 2020 for Transforming Teacher Education in the Southern Region. The workshop deliberated on Teacher Education in the Southern region by addressing demand and supply of teachers and discussed the critical role of universities in preparing competent and qualified teacher.  At the valedictory session, Prof. Sreekala E, Dean, School of Education, Pondicherry University, delivered the welcome address, and spoke about institutionalizing NEP- Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) as an independent programme in School of Education, Pondicherry University. Teacher Educators from various institutions from southern India participated in the Workshop. 


Prof. K. Tharanikkarasu, Vice-Chancellor (i/c), Pondicherry University, delivered the Valedictory note.  He addressed the students and faculty about the needs and demands of Teacher Education in the current scenario.


Prof. Pranati Panda, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi, expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the workshop’s insightful discussions and impactful contributions.


Dr. Amit Gautam, National Institute of Educational Planning and Administration (NIEPA), New Delhi delivered the vote of thanks.
