Travel experiences platform Klook has released its Spring Readiness Index, revealing growing interest among Indian travellers in spring journeys to Japan and South Korea. The index, based on insights from 900 travellers across nine Asian markets, shows Japan leading as the top spring destination with 78% of respondents choosing it, followed by South Korea at 52%.

Seasonal attractions are a key factor influencing travel plans during the March–April window. Search interest on Klook’s platform for terms like cherry blossom and sakura increased by 57% between December 2025 and February 2026, reflecting strong demand for time-sensitive travel experiences.

“Cherry blossom season is increasingly becoming one of those once-in-a-lifetime moments that Indian travellers are actively planning for,” said Shivam Tyagi, Head of Marketing – India at Klook. He noted that travellers today are prioritizing meaningful experiences shaped by natural events and cultural moments.

According to the survey, more than half of Indian respondents said the spring season significantly influences their itinerary planning. About 40% prefer booking activities one to two months before departure to maintain flexibility as bloom forecasts evolve. Key concerns include limited ticket availability (21%), peak-season pricing (20%), and unpredictable weather (19%). Millennials and Gen Z travellers dominate the trend, with over 55% of respondents aged between 25 and 35.

The data also highlights rising interest in multi-destination itineraries. Travellers are expanding beyond major cities to explore emerging locations such as Fukuoka, Nagoya and Hiroshima in Japan, and Gyeonggi-do, Gangwon-do and Gyeongju in South Korea.

To support spring travel demand, Klook has introduced curated seasonal experiences and booking initiatives designed to help travellers plan cherry blossom journeys with greater confidence and convenience
