As the Eid long weekend approaches, redBus anticipates a significant rise in intercity bus travel, projecting a 129% year-on-year growth in ticket bookings from Tamil Nadu, compared to travel in the previous week. Popular destinations such as Bangalore, Coimbatore, Pondicherry, Madurai, and Tiruchirapalli are expected to witness the highest footfall, with travelers making the most of the extended break. All data is as per bookings and projections on the redBus platform.
Intrastate Travel Surge: Around ¾ of the bus bookings are for routes inside Tamil Nadu. 26% of the bookings are for other states, while 74% are for intra-state travel
Preference for AC Travel: Over 69% of passengers are opting for AC buses, indicating a preference for comfortable journeys.
Youth and Male Travelers Lead: Almost half (48%) of the bookings are from the 21-35 age group, while 57% of total passengers are male and 43% are female.
Popular Boarding Points: Key hubs like Koyambedu, Gandhipuram, and Mattuthavani are experiencing the highest demand.
