Rwanda’s Engineers Provided Training on Irrigation Pump Selection and Exposure to Robotic Manufacturing Technologies in Pump Industry
Government of India is facilitating Irrigation engineers of Government of Rwanda for getting trained in India through Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), Coimbatore for a duration of one month. As a part of the training programme, Aquasub Engineering, Coimbatore which is one of the largest pump manufacturers in India provided training to eight engineers of Rwanda on pump selection procedures for different field situations, performance estimation of pumps and troubleshooting of pumps. The Rwandan engineers were trained to design irrigation systems with energy efficient solar pumping systems also. The visit to the advanced robotic manufacturing process facilities which is the hallmark of the Aquasub Engineering, Coimbatore was well appreciated by the trainees. Exposure of Rwandan engineers to Metrology, Energy Audit Practices aligned to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in the various Industry premises was well received by them.
Er.V.A.Sureshkumar, Manager (Logistics) of Aquasub Engineering executed the entire training programme. Mr.Umar (Export Manager) highlighted the present status of export of pumps from Aquasub engineering to various countries in the world and specifically to African countries. Mr.Dileep (General Manager) provided warm welcome to the trainees and provided details of salient features of the Aquasub Engineering. Dr.S.Murugesan, Vice-President (R&D) and Er.Prasad, Design engineer of Aquasub engineering comprehensively trained the engineers of Rwanda.
This training programme was envisaged by Dr.S.Pazhanivelan, Director of Centre for Water and Geospatial Studies of TNAU. The visit was enriched by the guidance of Professors Dr.V.Ravikumar and Dr.S.Selvakumar who accompanied the Rwandan engineers and ensured an engaging learning experience.
