Medical Camp at Madurai Central Prison

A comprehensive medical camp was organized at the Madurai Central Prison through the joint efforts of the Rotary Club West, Krupa Charitable Trust, AVSS Hospital, Agarwal Eye Hospital, and Krishna Eye Care. The camp provided services in general medicine, orthopedics, dermatology, and ophthalmology.


The event was presided over by Mr. Murugesan, Deputy Inspector General of Prisons and Correctional Service, Madurai Range . Mr. Satheesh Kumar, the Superintendent of Prisons and Central Prisons Madurai, oversaw the arrangements. The camp was formally inaugurated by Rotary District Governor Mr. Raja Govindasamy, who delivered a keynote address.


A team of six doctors and sixteen medical staff members rendered healthcare services during the camp. A total of 261 inmates and 10 prison staff members participated and benefited from the services.


Rotary Club President Mr. Dhanarajan also delivered a special address. Books were distributed to the inmates, and eyeglasses were provided by Krishna Eye Care.
