10-Day National Research Methodology Course at Pondicherry University concludes

The Centre for Study of Social Inclusion (CSSI), under the School of Social Sciences & International Studies at Pondicherry University, in collaboration with the Institute for Educational and Developmental Studies (IEDS) and sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, successfully concluded a 10-Day National Research Methodology Course for Research Scholars in Social Sciences.


The valedictory ceremony, brought together esteemed dignitaries, faculty members, and enthusiastic research scholars. The program commenced with the University Anthem and a warm welcome address by Dr. A. Chidambaram, Head of CSSI, who emphasized the significance of inclusive and critical research methodologies in contemporary academia.


Dr. G. Prabakaran, Course Director and Assistant Professor at CSSI, presented a comprehensive report detailing the course structure and content. The ten-day program featured diverse sessions aimed at equipping young researchers with methodological tools and analytical frameworks essential for high-quality social science research.


In her felicitation address, Prof. G. Chandrika, Dean, School of Social Sciences & International Studies, lauded the organizers for their meticulous planning and urged scholars to maintain their commitment to rigorous, socially relevant research.


Delivering the special address, Prof. Rajneesh Bhutani, Registrar (i/c), Pondicherry University, highlighted the necessity of multidisciplinary and decolonized approaches to research, encouraging scholars to integrate indigenous knowledge systems and broaden their methodological outlook.


The valedictory address was delivered by Prof. P. Prakash Babu, Vice Chancellor of Pondicherry University, who congratulated both the organizers and the participants. He reaffirmed the importance of social science research in addressing contemporary societal challenges and in contributing to progressive policy formulation.


Participants shared enthusiastic feedback, commending the quality of sessions, the expertise of resource persons, and the practical relevance of the training. Certificates were awarded by the Vice Chancellor and Co-Course Director Dr. Anish Gupta.


The function concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks by Dr. G. Prabakaran and the National Anthem, marking the end of a productive and enriching academic journey.
