HDFC ERGO General Insurance, one of India’s leading private general insurers, concluded the grand finale of the inaugural edition of Insurance Quiz Senior, a nationwide insurance awareness initiative for undergraduate college students. The quiz aimed to equip young adults with essential knowledge in insurance and risk management, continuing the legacy of the successful Insurance Quiz Junior, which has reached over 25 lakh school students since 2016.
This first edition saw overwhelming participation with 579 teams representing 444 colleges from over 140 cities across India. The competition was divided into four regional zones — North, South, East, and West — with one top team from each zone and a wildcard entry advancing to the national finale. Hosted by renowned quiz master and comedian Kumar Varun, the grand finale delivered a thrilling intellectual contest.
Emerging as the national winners were Anshul Kumar Thakur and Chaitanya Prabhakar from Ramjas College, Delhi University. They were followed by Arjun Gautam and Ishaan Semwal from BITS Pilani KK Birla Goa Campus as first runners-up, and Ayush Agarwal and Toshit Pradeep Kumar from The LNM IIT as second runners-up. The top three teams won cash prizes of ₹1.5 lakhs, ₹1 lakh, and ₹50,000 respectively, along with paid internships at HDFC ERGO.
Speaking at the finale, Anuj Tyagi, MD & CEO, HDFC ERGO, emphasized the importance of early financial awareness, noting, “The Insurance Quiz Senior is another step towards building a Future-Insured India.” Finalists also received an exclusive opportunity to tour a leading tech company’s office in Mumbai, further enriching their learning experience.
