Hotel Shiva Shagar, one of Chennai’s iconic vegetarian restaurants, has seen a remarkable 150% growth in delivery orders—from 8,800 in 2019 to over 22,000 in 2024—since partnering with Zomato in 2018. This reflects their successful shift from a dine-in setup to a digitally enabled brand.
Founded in 1998 by Mr. E. Pitchaikani and Mr. P. H. Jayaprakash, the restaurant is now run by the next generation, Deepak and Senthil Kumar, who have brought a fresh growth mindset. In a recent move, the family launched Shiva Sagar Cafe, a new format focused on handcrafted confectionery.

Zomato has also enabled easier onboarding, vendor access, and 0% commission offers in select cities. As of Q1 FY26, Zomato supports over 313,000 monthly active restaurant partners.
