The Departments of Commerce and Business Administration in Lady Doak College organised an International Conference on the topic of “AI-driven Strategies for Sustainable Business Excellence” on August 21 and 22, 2025.
The inaugural session started with a prayer by Dr. Jessie Ranjitha Jebaselvi C., Chaplain, Associate Professor, Department of English. Dr. Vanitha Malarvizhi P., Bursar, Head & Associate Professor Department of Commerce gave the welcome address to an assembly of 140 Research scholars, faculty and students from 12 various colleges and universities.
Dr. Beulah Jeyashree R., Principal and Secretary of Lady Doak College, delivered the presidential address. Dr. Jeyakodeeswari R, Head & Associate Professor Department of Business Administration introduced the chief guest. The Chief guest Dr. Siva Kumar M., Director, UGC MMTTC, Professor & Head Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Chairperson - School of Business Studies, Madurai Kamaraj University, gave the inaugural address.
Over the two days, the conference featured five technical sessions that explored the viability of AI in various fields. Dr. Sivakumar Somasundaram (Hawassa University, Ethiopia) focused on AI-powered Resource Management & Environmental Sustainability, Mr. Alexander Arokiasamy (Dubai) spoke about AI in Climate & Environmental Action, Mr. Arockiaraj Arockiam focused on AI-driven Business Sustainability & HR-AI Synergy.
Mrs. Merlin Imtha Louis Vice President - Human Resource (NatWest Group, Chennai) and Mr. Dr David Godfrey Entrepreneur, Co-Founder & CEO, EndowPro Business Solution, Chennai delved into the topic of HR- AI Synergy by Smart skills for Operational Excellence and Innovation. AI for Financial Sustainability & ESG Analytics was handled by Dr. Sampath Nagi, Assistant Professor, Department of Management, Pondicherry University.
Panel discussion by industry leaders like Mr. Varun Jayabalan Co-Founder, iTianz Software Solutions, Madurai. Mr. Rajendran S. Founder and Director, Sumanas Technologies, Madurai, and Mr. Ramanathan L. Sree Vinayaga Screens, Madurai, Mr. Vigneshwaran A. Member, Young Indians, Madurai and Mr. Prabhu Nagoormani, Senior Product Manager, FinOps, Madurai provided insights on balancing AI innovation with sustainable governance. The conference concluded with a valedictory address by Mr. Mujeeb Rahman, Chief Executive Officer, Zamco Foods, who inspired participants to leverage AI for driving sustainability and innovation.
The session also featured the release of ASPIRE (ISSN) , an in-house journal, presentation of the conference report and the distribution of certificates to participants.
The programme concluded with vote of thanks by Ms. Priyadharshni M.,Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, Lady Doak College.
