Shriram Ilakkiya Kazhagam regularly conducts Thirukkural Speech, Essay, and Drawing competitions for School and College students across Puducherry and Tamil Nadu. As part of this initiative, the club recently held competitions at Madura College in Madurai. A total of 456 students participated: 193 in the drawing competition, 153 in the speech competition, and 109 in the essay competition.
Presenting awards to the victorious students, Mr. M. Ramesh, Additional Superintendent of Police for Cyber Crimes, Madurai District, said, "Students who participated and won in these competitions should not settle for small victories but strive to achieve success that even surpasses their gurus. My congratulations to you. At the same time, students who did not win should not be disheartened. Perseverance alone brings success. Many figures universally renowned, like Vallalar and Bharathiyar, gained fame only after their time. No one should feel disgraced by failure”.
Earlier, Mr. V. Bhaskar, Assistant General Manager of Shriram Chits, presided over the event. Finally, Mrs. P.V. Mallika, Senior Zonal Manager, Shriram Chits, delivered the vote of thanks. The event was also attended by Mr. Mohan Duraisamy, Surveillance Officer, and Mr. Srinivasan, Administrative Manager, both from Shriram Chits.
