Stellantis India, in collaboration with the Muskaan Foundation for Road Safety, has launched the Safe Journey campaign in Chennai as part of a larger multi-city initiative targeting India’s most high-risk urban corridors. The campaign aims to reduce road accidents and fatalities by fostering safer road behaviors among families and youth in Chennai, Pune, Jaipur, Bangalore, and Hyderabad—five of India’s top ten cities for road accident deaths.

In Chennai, the campaign kicked off with an orientation session at The Government Arts College, Perumbakkam, followed by six large-format workshops reaching over 1,200 students through interactive sessions using real-life case studies and scenario-based learning. Road Safety Clubs will be formed in schools and colleges to lead peer-driven outreach activities, including on-road safety drives and community awareness programs in partnership with local NGOs and traffic police.

Mr. Shailesh Hazela, CEO and Managing Director of Stellantis India, said, “Through Safe Journey, we are equipping Chennai’s youth to stay safe and become advocates for safer roads in their communities. This initiative reflects our long-term commitment to building responsible mobility cultures across India.” Neha Khullar, Director Projects at Muskaan Foundation, added, “By empowering students as leaders, we are creating a ripple effect of awareness and action in Chennai.”

The campaign will run for 6–8 months, engaging over 11,000 students, 1,000 teachers, and 20,000 community members across the cities. Its impact will be measured through surveys and feedback, ensuring sustained behavior change and safer roads for the future.
