The Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College & Hospital, K.K. K. Nagar. The programme was inaugurated in line with the nationwide launch of the initiative by the Prime Minister of India through a live video link. The event began with the live telecast of the Prime Minister’s message, followed by the Dean’s address and the formal launch of the hospital’s activities, marking a strong start to two weeks of interventions.
The inaugural day witnessed enthusiastic participation and activities reflecting the spirit of the Abhiyan. In-house services included antenatal care, cervical and breast cancer screening, anaemia testing, tuberculosis and oral cancer checks, adolescent health assessments, and non-communicable disease detection. Outreach camps were also conducted at two major industrial sites—Foxconn, Sunguvachathiram, and Sangeetha Veg Restaurant, Perungalathur—bringing essential screening and counselling services to working women. Awareness sessions highlighted nutrition, food safety, menstrual hygiene, and preventive health practices. Mr Sundaramurthi, Zonal Food Safety Officer, and his team contributed by creating awareness on food safety, nutrition, and adulteration through interactive sessions, complementing the medical activities. To further mark the occasion, a blood donation camp was organized at Adyar, where voluntary donors came forward in support of community health services.
The programme at ESIC Medical College & Hospital, K.K. Nagar, will continue from 17th September to 2nd October 2025, featuring daily camps at community and industrial sites along with parallel in-house screenings. The Institution will focus on antenatal care, anaemia prevention, cancer screening, adolescent wellness, and NCD management, supported by daily health talks on nutrition and lifestyle practices. Additional blood donation camps are also planned. The launch reaffirmed ESIC’s commitment to advancing women’s health and strengthening families through preventive care, awareness, and community participation.
