HDFC ERGO Conducts Successful Insurance Awareness Week in Puducherry

HDFC ERGO General Insurance, one of India’s leading private insurers, has successfully completed its week-long ‘Insurance Awareness Week’ in Puducherry. The initiative aimed to educate residents about the importance of insurance in securing financial well-being, promoting the campaign’s central theme of Nimmadhi — meaning Peace of Mind — across all districts in the union territory. This campaign aligns with IRDAI’s vision of ‘Insurance for All by 2047’ and supports the State Insurance Awareness Model focused on awareness, accessibility, and affordability.


During the campaign, HDFC ERGO reached over 17 lakh people across Puducherry and Tamil Nadu through various activities including door-to-door pamphlet distribution and the deployment of branded auto-rickshaws with public announcement systems in key locations. These efforts were designed to raise insurance literacy among urban and rural populations alike, covering essential insurance products such as health, motor, home, and MSME coverage. With a strong network of 55 branches and digital offices in the region, HDFC ERGO continues to strengthen its grassroots outreach.


Commenting on the campaign, Ankur Bahorey, Director and Chief Business Officer at HDFC ERGO General Insurance, said, “Our goal is to make insurance synonymous with ‘Nimmadhi’—peace of mind—for every family. This awareness drive helped us directly engage with communities, not just to sell policies, but to build an insurance-inclusive society where everyone is financially protected against uncertainties.”
