The Elan Club of the Department of Fashion Designing, Lady Doak College, Madurai organised an Inter-Collegiate Meet, CELESTIA ’25 on 11th September 2025.
The programme was inaugurated by Dr.R. Nimma Elizabeth, Vice Principal, Head and Associate Professor, Department of Physics, Lady Doak College. In the inaugural address, she highlighted the role of light in Physics as the basis for perceiving colours, drawing a meaningful connection to their application in Fashion Designing. Dr. G. Sofia, Coordinator of the Department of Fashion Designing gave the introductory remarks.
Competitions such as Design by Me (Designer Contest), Rock and Roll (Group Dance), Défilé de Mode (Fashion Show), Mr & Miss Celestia ’25 (Title Event), Moda Sketching (Fashion Illustration), Ornament Crafte (Ornament Making), Stains on Hand (Mehandi), Styles in Fold (Real Model Draping) were conducted.
Dr. R. Beulah Jeyashree, Principal & Secretary, Lady Doak College presided over the valedictory function and delivered the valedictory address. She highlighted the remarkable growth of Coco Chanel from humble beginning to an iconic fashion designer. The Overall Trophy was awarded to the students of Kongu Arts and Science college, Erode .
The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Head Incharge, Fg Offr S G Sagara. The arrangements were made by the Club Convenors Ms. Santhiya A & Ms. Jayesh S and the faculty members Ms. Vijisheema C, Ms. Lavanya L, Ms. Sweatha K and Ms. Rajeswari A.
