Oben Electric, an R&D-driven electric motorcycle manufacturer, has entered Coimbatore with the inauguration of its first showroom in the city, marking its fifth outlet in Tamil Nadu. The new facility, supported by a dedicated Oben Care service centre, aims to enhance access to high-performance electric motorcycles and dependable after-sales service for customers in the region.
The showroom, located on Trichy Road opposite the KIA showroom near Krishna Colony, was inaugurated in the presence of Selva Thangam, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Prohibition Enforcement, Coimbatore District, and Srilasri Dhayanidhi Anbu Sivanesan Adigalaar of Mankandeswar Thirumadaalayam, Pollachi, along with other dignitaries.
With this launch, Oben Electric expands its presence in Tamil Nadu to Coimbatore, in addition to Theni, Salem, Karaikudi and Cuddalore. The company plans to scale up to 10 showrooms in the state by the end of 2026. Nationally, it operates over 100 showrooms across more than 85 cities, including Hyderabad, Pune, Delhi, Kochi and Bengaluru, and aims to establish over 500 retail and service touchpoints across India in the next two years.
The expansion comes amid rising demand for the Rorr EZ Sigma electric motorcycle. Available in 3.4 kWh and 4.4 kWh battery configurations, it offers a range of up to 175 km (IDC) and a top speed of 95 km/h, along with multiple riding modes and connected features.
