In line with its vision of sustainable agriculture and livelihood improvement Marico Limited marked World Coconut Day with a comprehensive multicity initiative designed to empower coconut farmers in Tamil Nadu. Marico hosted knowledge-sharing platforms and targeted training sessions for over 500 coconut farmers across four strategic locations, like Coimbatore, Vellore, Krishnagiri and Thanjavur.

Marico’s latest World Coconut Day celebration underscored its unwavering commitment to fostering sustainable agricultural practices whilst addressing the pressing challenges faced by India's coconut farming community through Parachute Kalpavriksha Foundation.

Speaking about the landmark event, Amit Bhasin, Chief Legal Officer &Group General Counsel and Secretary of the CSR Committee, Marico Limited said“World Coconut Day provides us with an opportunity to reflect on our journey with India's coconut farming community and reaffirm our commitment to their prosperity and our people-first, stakeholder-driven approach. Through Parachute Kalpavriksha Foundation, we have witnessed firsthand how targeted knowledge sharing and technological support can transform agricultural outcomes. This year's multi-city celebrations embody our belief that sustainable agriculture and farmer empowerment must go hand in hand. Each farmer we reach with Parachute Kalpavriksha Foundation today becomes an ambassador for sustainable practices in their community, creating a ripple effect that extends far beyond our direct intervention."

Since its establishment in 2017, Parachute Kalpavriksha Foundation has set benchmarks for its reach and effectiveness. Its training modules encompass best-in-class farm management practices that blend time-tested agricultural wisdom with cutting-edge technology. This training is complemented by knowledge-sharing built around digital literacy, financial literacy, and – most crucially – awareness of relevant government schemes and subsidies.

The programme also has a dedicated app and call centre for coconut farmers, enabling them to get access to expert guidance and support on demand, from accurate weather forecasts to effective soil and water management practices. Such a holistic ecosystem supports farmers with tailored assistance and guidance as they manage multiple facets of modern farming across different regions.
