Teach For India, in collaboration with St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, has launched a first-of-its-kind Master’s Degree in Transformational Leadership. The two-year program will allow selected Teach For India Fellows to pursue a postgraduate degree while continuing their full-time, paid teaching work in under-resourced schools—combining academic rigor with real-world impact.
Commenting on the launch, Shaheen Mistri, Founder and CEO of Teach For India, said: “We are very excited to introduce this Master’s program in partnership with St. Xavier’s College. It will help develop our Fellows into leaders who deeply understand educational inequity and possess the skills to transform classrooms and communities. We hope this program fosters collective action and empowers Fellows to drive innovative change.”
The fully UGC-recognised degree, awarded by St. Xavier’s College, is designed as a rigorous leadership development program that covers classroom culture, assessments, stakeholder engagement, policy, arts and sports, and more. With a fee of ₹15,000 per year and scholarships available, the program makes higher education accessible while preparing leaders committed to educational equity.
