Crompton Greaves Consumer Electricals Ltd. (Crompton), a leading name in home and energy solutions, has achieved a significant milestone in its solar journey by securing a major solar rooftop order worth ₹445 crore in Andhra Pradesh. The project will cover and solarize over 40,000 households with 2 KW on-grid rooftop systems, totaling 77 MW in capacity. This marks Crompton’s largest-ever solar rooftop order and comes just two months after the company entered the segment, underscoring its rapid growth and execution strength.
This development follows a ₹52 crore solar order earlier this month, reinforcing Crompton’s strong traction and expanding presence in India’s fast-growing solar market. The rooftop solar segment, valued at approximately ₹20,000–25,000 crore and growing over 20% annually, presents a major opportunity for Crompton to drive sustainable energy adoption across households.
Mr. Promeet Ghosh, Managing Director & CEO of Crompton, said, “This landmark ₹445 crore order marks a pivotal step in our renewable energy journey and reflects the trust in Crompton’s ability to deliver large-scale, sustainable solutions aligned with India’s clean energy goals.”
Mr. Shaleen Nayak, Business Unit Head – Lighting, added, “Covering over 40,000 homes, this project showcases our capability to execute high-quality, energy-efficient solar solutions at scale.”
Backed by 85 years of expertise, a robust distribution network, and responsive service infrastructure, Crompton is set to expand its solar portfolio across lighting, pumps, and rooftop systems—strengthening its leadership in sustainable home energy solutions.
