The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PMR), JIPMER, organized a patient, public awareness and interactive programme marking the World Cerebral Palsy Day.  The programme created a vital, collaborative platform that empowered individuals, families, and organizations to share experiences, promote awareness, and openly discuss both the challenges and achievements of the cerebral palsy (CP) community. Furthermore, expert contributions from the PMR (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) department faculty and staff were central to the event, as they provided detailed explanations of various treatment methods and held an interactive session to address the specific, pressing queries of children with CP and their parents.

The program was conducted with the guidance of Dr. Vir Singh Negi, Director of JIPMER, and Dr. Saka Vinodkumar, Medical Superintendent. The event was graced by several special guests who shared their insights, including Chief Guest Dr. Jagadish Menon (Officiating Medical Superintendent, JIPMER), Dr. Suresh Gandhi (Head of the Department of Orthopaedics), Dr. Nivedita Mondal (Professor of Paediatrics), and officials from the Rotary Club of Pondicherry.

Dr. Navin Kumar, Head of the Department of PMR, presided over the event. The programme was organized by Dr. V Padmapriyadarsini, Assistant Professor, Department of PMR. Members and students from Satya Special School also participated in the programme.
