BJP Tenkasi District President Submits Memo on Duplicate Voter Entries

Mr. Ananthan Ayyasamy, President, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Tenkasi District, yesterday met the District Collector and District Election Officer, Mr. Kamal Kishore, and submitted a memorandum highlighting the presence of a large number of potential duplicate entries in the SIR Draft Voter List published on 19.12.2025.


Based on a preliminary data review of the draft voter list pertaining to Vasudevanallur Assembly Constituency (No. 220), it was observed that thousands of entries appear to be potential duplicate records. The memorandum emphasized that, in order to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and reliability of the electoral rolls, these entries require verification and appropriate corrective action by the Election Administration.


As part of the submission, Mr. Ananthan Ayyasamy handed over a USB drive containing two data files with details of the identified potential duplicate entries. The submission includes a comprehensive list of 7,481 potential duplicate records, identified using multiple matching parameters.


Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Ananthan Ayyasamy stated that the purpose of the memorandum is to ensure a clean, transparent, and error-free voter list, in strict adherence to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. He requested the District Election Officer to examine the matter thoroughly and initiate necessary verification and corrective measures.


He further assured his full cooperation with the election authorities and expressed confidence that the issue would be examined with due seriousness, thereby strengthening public trust in the electoral process.
