On the occasion of the Centenary Celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh and the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister and Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and under the guidance of State President Shri Nainar Nagendran, the Environment Protection and Disaster Management Wing of BJP Tenkasi District has been continuously implementing a mega green campaign to plant one lakh palm seeds across the district.

As part of this initiative, 2,000 palm seeds were successfully planted today on the banks of the Surangudi Lake, located on the Puliyangudi–Sankarankovil Road, under the leadership of BJP Tenkasi District President Shri Ananthan Ayyasamy. It is noteworthy that over 35,000 palm seeds have been planted so far across Tenkasi district.

Addressing the gathering, District President Shri Ananthan Ayyasamy stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, initiatives such as Swachh Bharat, ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (#EkPedMaaKeNaam), and Mission #LiFE have transformed environmental protection into a people’s movement. He added that BJP Tenkasi District is implementing this palm plantation drive in the same spirit. He emphasized that this is not politics of promises, but action clearly visible on the ground.

The programme arrangements were efficiently coordinated by Dr. S. Murugan, District President of the BJP Environment Protection and Disaster Management Wing.

The event was attended by State Executive Committee Member Shri Ramaraja, District President of the Spiritual Wing Shri Shanmugasundaram, State Youth Wing Executive Committee Member Shri Shankar, and Puliyangudi town office-bearers, who extended their full support to this environmental initiative.
