Guided by the theme ‘Simply Penang’, the Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB) is leading the 9th edition of the Penang Roadshow to India from 19 to 27 January 2026 across Mumbai, New Delhi, Kochi and Chennai. The roadshow connects Penang with over 800 qualified buyers and more than 100 media representatives, directly engaging decision-makers from the leisure, corporate, incentive and meetings sectors.
India continues to be one of Penang’s most important source markets. As of November 2025, Penang welcomed over 42,367 Indian visitors, elevating India into Penang’s top six international markets. The ongoing visa exemption for Indian nationals until 31 December 2026 further strengthens travel convenience and supports growth in both tourism and business events. Penang has also hosted more than 2,900 business events up to November 2025, generating an estimated economic impact of RM1.3 billion.
“India remains a key strategic market for Penang as we prepare for Visit Malaysia Year 2026. Through initiatives like the Penang Roadshow, we are strengthening partnerships, building market confidence and positioning Penang as a preferred destination for both tourism and business events,” said Ashwin Gunasekeran, Chief Executive Officer, Penang Convention & Exhibition Bureau (PCEB).
