Salasar Techno Engineering Limited has secured a ₹68.67 crore Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) Package SS-145 from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) for setting up a state-of-the-art substation at Lawspet, Puducherry. Awarded in December 2025, the project will be executed under consultancy services to the Puducherry Electricity Department (PED) and marks an important milestone for the company in the power transmission sector.
The scope of the project includes the design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 110/22 kV GIS substation along with all associated civil, structural, and electrical works. Once operational, the substation is expected to significantly enhance power distribution efficiency and strengthen grid resilience, catering to growing electricity demand driven by urbanisation and economic development in the region.
