At Srivilliputhur, Kalasalingam University, New AICTE IDEA lab established by the Sponsorship of AICTE, New Delhi for the worth of rupees 90 lakhs with 16 precession and CNC controlled Machines and instruments installed to train the students with practical exposure in modern design, fabrication, and prototyping technologies. Pro Chancellor Dr. S. Arivazagi , presided over the function and the Vice Presdent Dr S. Shasi Anand inaugurated the lab.
“This lab promots innovation, creativity, collaborative projects and hands-on technical learning among University students and other Students from nearby Institutions,” the Vice President said.
Dr.S.Nayanan,ViceChancellor, and Dr.V.Vasudevan, Registrar felicitated.
Dr. M. Pallikonda Rajasekaran, Lab Coordinator and Director (R&D), briefed on the one-year plan of the lab and also said this lab will be utilised by the engineering students from the first year onwards as it has been included in the Academic curriclam. This newly established lab is equipped with advanced facilities such as 3D Scanner for 3D Printing, Multi-Color 3D Printer, Basic Single Nozzle 3D Printer, Electric Belt and Disc Sander, Scroll Saw Machine, Wood Lathe Machine, Bench CNC Top Drill Machine, Lathe Cum Milling, Portable ARC Welding Machine, Laser Cutter, Vinyl Cutter, CNC Wood Carving Machine, All-in-One Electronic Workbench, and PCB Milling Machine, highlighting the vision for skill enhancement, and interdisciplinary collaboration. The working of all installed instruments was explained by the Technicians and Student Ambassadors.
Directors, Deans, and Heads of Departments, Professors and Industry Executives, attended the event and visited the lab.
