The College Day Address was delivered by Rev Fr. Dr. Godwin Rufus S. J., Principal, St. Xavier's College, Palayamkottai. In his inspiring address, the Chief Guest challenged the young audience to reflect on their place in the world and the way they choose to respond to its demands, stressing that the future rests in their hands. Questioning why women, despite receiving quality education, remain underrepresented in leadership even after decades, he urged students to rededicate themselves to purposeful growth.

Fr. Dr. Godwin Rufus through a symbolic demonstration using scissors and a needle, he emphasised the choice between dividing and uniting—calling upon students to be people who bind communities together. Using the imagery of a matchbox and matchstick, he reminded them that without friction, no spark can ignite, and that even a crumpled paper can regain worth with God’s grace. Opportunities, he cautioned, come rarely and must be seized with courage. He encouraged students to cultivate fresh thinking, avoid being driven by fashion, and instead pursue true passion guided by the inner voice. Citing inspiring figures such as Ms. Arunima Sinha, the first female amputee to scale Mount Everest, and Dr. Tessy Thomas, the ‘Missile Woman of India’ and current Vice Chancellor of a university in Kerala. The Chief Guest urged all young women to aspire to such remarkable heights.

The programme included a special ceremony honouring retired faculty members, alongside presentations recognising the significant contributions of faculty in research. The distribution of prizes marked a proud celebration of student achievements across academics, sports, and extracurricular activities.

The Student Cabinet Valediction marked an occasion of sincere appreciation and the formal transition of leadership to the newly elected office bearers. The outgoing student leaders shared their experiences and expressed appreciation for the opportunities and learning gained during their tenure. This was followed by a Reminiscence and Vote of Thanks by the President of Student Cabinet Ms. Farhana R, acknowledging the collective efforts that made the event a success. A vibrant Cultural Programme added to the festive spirit, showcasing the diverse talents of the students. The celebrations concluded with the College Song and the National Anthem.
