The Department of Commerce in Lady Doak College organized Varthaga Club Valedictory Programme on 2 April 2026 at 10.00 AM in the Golden Jubilee Auditorium for the academic year 2025–2026. The programme marked the successful completion of the Varthaga Club activities and celebrated the students’ achievements during the academic year.
The event commenced with a prayer song by the students, followed by a prayer led by Ms. Christy Jeba L., SCM President, invoking divine blessings for the proceedings.
The Welcome Address and introduction of the Chief Guests was delivered by Dr. P. Vanitha Malarvizhi, Bursar, Associate Professor and Head, Department of Commerce. She warmly welcomed the gathering, introduced the chief guest and highlighted the significance of the valedictory function as a platform to reflect upon the club’s accomplishments.
Ms. Mahima Grazy S., President of the Varthaga Club, presented the Annual Report, highlighting the club’s activities and the achievements of the students throughout the year.
A video presentation highlighting the Varthaga Club events and Golden Jubilee Celebrations added vibrancy to the session and captured the memorable moments of the academic year.
The Valedictory Address was delivered by the Chief Guest Dr. C. Jessie Ranjitha Jebaselvi, Chaplain, Associate Professor, and Head I/c of the Department of English. In her inspiring address, she highlighted key principles for achieving success and happiness. She emphasised four significant pillars in life: God, mother, father, and teacher, acknowledging their vital role in shaping one’s character. The Special Guest Dr. Rathika Kathirvelraj, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce who appreciated the efforts of the department and encouraged students to continue striving for excellence.
The Varthaga Club Office Bearers for the academic year 2026–2027 were formally inducted by Dr. Angel Christy Praveena C. Assistant Professor. This was followed by the induction of Varthaga Streamwise Clubs, led by Dr. A. Margaret Divya, Assistant Professor. The Programme was organized by the Club Coordinators Dr. J. Akila Mary, and Mrs. Sharon Jeya Christy.
The prizes were distributed by the chief guest, acknowledging the talents and achievements of the students.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Preethi A., President of the Varthaga Club.
