The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) operationalised a new Aadhaar Seva Kendra (ASK) at Azad Nagar, Krishnagiri, on Tuesday, 12th May 2026. The centre was inaugurated by C. Dinesh Kumar, District Collector of Krishnagiri, who served as the Chief Guest. Hosted by the UIDAI Regional Office, Bengaluru, the event saw participation from representatives of the Press Information Bureau, Akashvani, Doordarshan, and service provider BLS International.
The new Aadhaar Seva Kendra offers a comprehensive suite of services under one roof, including Aadhaar enrolment, demographic and biometric updates, error correction, and grievance redressal. Operated directly by UIDAI, the facility is designed to be inclusive and resident-friendly, featuring wheelchair accessibility and a dedicated grievance mechanism managed by an ASK Manager. During the inauguration, the District Collector inspected the facility and enquired about the online appointment booking system available through the UIDAI portal.
Priya Sreekumar, Deputy Director, UIDAI Regional Office Bengaluru, noted that this is the third ASK in Tamil Nadu, following Chennai and Madurai. She further announced plans to open 27 additional centres across the state by September 2026, bringing the total to 30. Notably, mandatory biometric updates for children aged 5-17 years are being provided free of cost until September 2026 at both school camps and these centres. This initiative reinforces UIDAI’s commitment to efficient digital governance and the Government of India’s vision of digital inclusion and Ease of Living.
