A traditional bullock cart boundary race was held near Nattarasankottai in Sivaganga district as part of the Vaikasi Visakam festival celebrations. A total of 29 pairs of bulls took part in the event. Large crowds gathered on both sides of the road and enthusiastically watched the competition.
Bullock cart owners from the districts of Sivaganga, Pudukkottai, Ramanathapuram, Madurai, Theni, and Dindigul participated in the race. The competition featured 8 pairs of bulls in the large-bull category and 21 pairs in the small-bull category.
The race was conducted on the Madurai–Thondi National Highway and witnessed intense competition as the bullock carts raced to overtake one another, providing an exciting spectacle for spectators.
At the conclusion of the event, cash prizes were awarded to the owners and drivers of the bullock carts that secured the top four positions in both categories.
