International Yoga Day Training Camp Held at Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College

A special yoga training camp was organized at Mannar Thirumalai Naicker College on Friday in connection with the International Day of Yoga 2026.


The programme was presided over by College Principal Dr. Ramasubbaiah. The event was attended by College Chairman Vijayaraghavan, Honorary Chairman Engineer Rajagopal, Secretary Engineer Sridhar, and Treasurer Azhwarsamy.


Greetings were delivered by Self-Financing Wing Director Prabhu and Student Welfare and Extension Activities Coordinator Silambarasan.


The chief guest for the programme was Varun Kumar (BNYS) from Bengaluru, who conducted awareness sessions on yoga and demonstrated practices aimed at promoting good health and overall well-being. He also highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life for maintaining physical and mental fitness.


A total of 685 students participated in the training programme and benefited from the practical sessions.


Earlier, Rotaract Club Coordinator Dr. Ranjith Kumar welcomed the gathering, while Rotaract Club Student President Bharath introduced the chief guest. The vote of thanks was delivered by Coordinator Dr. Kothaikani.


The event arrangements were made by Rotaract Club Student President Nitheesh Kumar and faculty advisors Surya Prakash and Kishore.


The programme served as an opportunity to create awareness among students about the health benefits of yoga and encouraged them to adopt a healthier lifestyle through regular practice.
