Kongu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Nanjanapuram, Erode, organised its First-Year Students’ Inaugural Programme on Thursday to welcome newly admitted students and familiarise them with the institution’s academic culture, discipline and student development initiatives.
The programme began with Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a welcome address by the Correspondent, P. Sachithanandhan. The event was attended by students, parents, faculty members and administrative staff.
Delivering the presidential address, Dr. R. Kumaraswamy, Vice President of the KVIT Trust, encouraged students to make effective use of higher education opportunities and focus on holistic development. Principal Dr. H. Vasudevan highlighted the importance of discipline, academic commitment, innovation and value-based education in achieving success.
The function was graced by A. Venkatachalam, Vice President, Dr. K. Sengottuvelan, Correspondent of KNS, and P. Balasubramaniam, Patron Member and Trustee.
Swami Narayananandha Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission Vidyalaya, Coimbatore, delivered a special address, urging students to pursue their studies with dedication and uphold ethical values. The inaugural address on the theme “Attitude Decides Altitude” was delivered by Dr. Jayanthasri Balakrishnan, former Professor of English, PSG College of Arts and Science, Coimbatore. She emphasised that a positive attitude, perseverance and self-discipline are essential for success and encouraged students to face challenges with confidence.
Faculty members were honoured for their contributions to academic excellence, while student rank holders were recognised for their outstanding achievements. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. K.K.A. Alaguappan, Head of the Department of Corporate Secretaryship and Professional Accounting and IQAC Coordinator.
