The Coimbatore Branch of the Southern India Regional Council (SIRC) of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) is celebrating the 78th Chartered Accountants’ Day with a series of social, environmental and professional initiatives reflecting the profession’s commitment to nation-building and public service.
The celebrations commenced this morning with the hoisting of the ICAI Flag at ICAI Bhavan, Thudiyalur, Coimbatore. The ceremony was held in the presence of CA S. Venkatesh, President of the Auditors Association of Southern India, and CA Survajith S. Krishnan, Chairman of the Coimbatore Branch of SIRC of ICAI, along with past chairmen, managing committee members, senior members, students and well-wishers of the profession.
As part of the celebrations, the branch has organized a tree plantation drive at the ICAI premises, reinforcing its commitment to environmental sustainability and a greener future. A blood donation camp has also been arranged to encourage voluntary blood donation and contribute to the healthcare needs of society.
Continuing its tradition of social responsibility, the branch is conducting Annadanam (community feeding) for more than 750 beneficiaries, reflecting the profession’s enduring commitment to serving the community beyond financial and regulatory domains.
The celebrations will culminate this evening with a grand Chartered Accountants’ Day function at ICAI Bhavan, where members of the profession will gather to commemorate the historic journey of ICAI and honour members who have completed 30 years in the profession, recognizing their invaluable contribution to the growth of the profession and society.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman CA Survajith S. Krishnan stated that Chartered Accountants have played a pivotal role in strengthening India’s economic framework through their contributions in financial reporting, taxation, auditing, corporate governance, entrepreneurship, public finance and policy implementation. He emphasized that the profession continues to evolve as a trusted partner in India’s growth story.

With a legacy spanning 78 years, ICAI has been at the forefront of promoting professional excellence, ethical standards, transparency, accountability and economic development.
